SEDES live online and face-to-face English courses use the Ventures curriculum published by the University of Cambridge .
DESCRIPTION
THE AUTHORS
The authors who helped write the Ventures curriculum, chaired the TESOL Adult Standards Board, developed written training materials to integrate ESL workforce skills as well as CASAS test items, and won numerous awards.
CHARACTERISTICS
This curriculum is aligned with NRS interpretive, productive, and interactive outcomes at each level. The course also offers a section dedicated to college and career readiness, to help students develop the skills they need to be successful in college and in the workplace. The problem solving activities in each unit cover critical thinking and social skills key to mastering the English language.
DIGITAL RESOURCES
This study plan, together with the SEDES academic program, integrate quick and easy access to valuable digital tools such as: Digital workbook, audios, videos, games and interactive activities, virtual classroom, tests and study materials.
LISTENING PRACTICES
This curriculum includes access to audio tracks and grammar presentations linked to QR codes using smartphones that promote mobile learning, while a set of digital tools complement the course to support 21st century learning and skills.
ABOUT WIOA AND NRS
The Cambridge Ventures curriculum helps the SEDES academic program to comply with the new adaptations of the NRS (National Reporting System for Adult Education) standards as well as the requirements of the WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) and NRS.
